Priority Access T1. High Speed, QoS Transmissions

If you run a small or medium-sized business and need prioritized voice and data traffic at T-1 speeds (1.544Mbps), Priority Access T1 may be the right move for you. This service offers Quality of Service (QoS) from end to end, creating a “virtual private line” transport for voice and data traffic. You just supply the customer premise equipment, and we configure it for you.

IPDirect

IPDirect is a point-to-point private line T1 connection from the customer premise directly to the nearest network access point. The IPDirect product uses combinations of VLAN tagging and QoS to achieve complete quality of service for the voice packets across the entire path, creating a private line connection. This eliminates the risks inherent to running a phone service over the plain vanilla public internet (without QoS).  IPDirect is offered at the most competitive prices within 50 miles of our backbone provider’s Super POPs or DS-3 aggregation points. Also, JEP provides an Integrated Access Device (IAD) for the IPDirect service, making this a completely managed service from end to end.

Three Additional IPDirect Options

  • IPDirect Plus adds a basic internet access product to our IPDirect T1 private line service so that your company does not need to purchase a separate internet connection for web browsing and other computer related needs. While the basic Internet access does not include web or email hosting (secure web and email hosting are available on an ala carte basis), QoS remains in place, with voice packets still retaining full priority.
  • IPDirect Basic is the same point-to-point private line service delivered at T-1 speeds (1.544Mbps) as IPDirect, but without the JEP-provided Integrated Access Device (IAD). You must provide your own IAD or router.
  • IPDirect BasicPlus adds basic Internet access to the IPDirect Basic service.

  • The Demarcation Point (DEMARC) for Priority Access T-1 is at the Network Interface Unit (NIU). Testing and troubleshooting beyond this point may result in additional charges. Priority Access T-1 is available nationwide and can offer a strong alternative to often more expensive private line services. Quotes for service are typically provided within two (2) business days of a quote request, and after quote acceptance, service can typically be installed in 22 business days. Your company will contract directly with JEP for this service which is available with a one (1) year term agreement.
  • The JEP-provided IAD is designated as the DEMARC for this managed service. Quotes for service are typically provided within 3-5 business days of a quote request, and after quote acceptance, service can typically be installed in 22 business days. Your company will contract directly with JEP for this service which is available with a one (1) year term agreement.
